You're Not 'Free' If Your Family Is Starving.
Passover celebrates the journey from slavery to freedom. When a family cannot afford a true Seder, however, the "bread of affliction" isn't a symbol of the past—it is a literal reality of their present.
The financial pressure of Passover creates stress that overshadows the holiday's meaning. Instead of feeling free, parents feel even more "shackled" by their inability to feed their children, making the Haggadah’s call to "let all who are hungry come and eat" feel painfully out of reach.

How can they celebrate being free when they are bound by the constraints of poverty?
True freedom cannot be felt until the basic human need for food is met.
With your help, we can meet that need, remove that stress, and allow for a true celebration.
There are so many wonderful initiatives that exist in our community to assist families for Passover...
But only United Chesed is
Fast, effective, and compassionate.
We only ask for what our families need.
How YOU Can Help
To offset increases in grocery costs, we're asking you to please consider an extra 25% on top of your donation.
Please don't let us turn any qualifying family away due to under-funding.
We know that this season is expensive for everyone and any amount is appreciated. Donate early, so that your contribution can be disbursed to clients in time for them to prepare a substantial and enjoyable Passover for their household.
Any donations made later will still be used to assist clients with hunger relief.
